On-demand courier delivery for Harare. Book a rider, track the parcel live, pay when it arrives
Sending a parcel across Harare usually means a WhatsApp message to a rider you found through a friend. You pay up front, nobody can tell you where the package is, and when it's late all you have is a phone number. Businesses that deliver every day carry that risk on every order.
A shop owner shouldn't have to call a rider three times to find out where a customer's order is.
Live tracking on a delivery booked over WhatsApp
Proof of delivery when the rider says it arrived
Phone number to chase when the parcel is late
Every courier in Harare has a smartphone with GPS. Tracking, dispatch and proof of delivery were already in their pockets. What was missing was the system around them: one that finds the nearest free rider, follows the trip and holds payment until the parcel arrives.
“Build it like ride-hailing for parcels. The nearest rider gets the offer, the sender watches the trip, and payment settles on delivery.”
Fetchr is a delivery platform with four workspaces. Senders book and track. Riders take offers and record proof of delivery. Corporate fleets run jobs against an SLA. Admins run the whole operation. A native rider app keeps recording GPS with the screen off and the network down.
Nearest-Rider Dispatch
A PostGIS query finds online riders near the pickup and sends them timed offers with price and ETA. An atomic accept means only one rider wins each job
Live Tracking
Senders follow the rider on an OpenLayers map of Harare from pickup to drop-off, and every trip's trail is saved
Rider App That Survives Dead Zones
An Expo app records GPS in the background every 15 metres, queues fixes in SQLite when the signal drops and uploads them when it returns
EcoCash & Cash on Delivery
Paynow takes EcoCash payments, and a scheduled job reconciles any payment the webhook missed. Riders confirm cash on delivery in the app
Corporate Fleet Portal
Businesses onboard with documents, billing and an SLA, then dispatch jobs, watch their riders and get SLA alerts
Admin Control Room
Users, riders, deliveries, payments, refunds, finance exports, platform config and announcements in one dashboard
Live at fetchr.delivery, with an Expo rider app built for Android
Role-based workspaces: sender, rider, fleet and admin
Automated tests across dispatch, payments and refunds
Delivery states enforced by a tested state machine
Booking a delivery is a form. Keeping a rider's location flowing from a phone in a pocket, screen off and signal coming and going, is the real product. The rider app queues every GPS fix locally and uploads in batches, so a dead zone delays the trail but never loses it.
